下川徹 / 建築家
1983年福岡県久留米市生まれ。独学で建築を学び、2005年に自身の事務所stad(スタッド)を設立。福岡を拠点に県内外の個人住宅・アパレルストア・美容室・飲食店等の建築設計及び空間デザイン、家具・プロダクトデザインを手掛ける。近年は、2007年に竣工した建築処女作s-houseが海外のBauwelt Prize 2009(ベルリン)受賞や、Wallpaper* Architects Directory 2009(ロンドン)で世界の建築家30人の1人として選ばれ、ロッテルダムで開催されるビエンナーレに招待出展。

SHIMOKAWA Toru / architect
Born in Fukuoka, Japan, in 1983, and having learned architecture by self studying, Shimokawa Toru established the office STAD in 2005. Located in Fukuoka City, the office has worked in architectural design as well as in inner space design, furniture and product design. Works within as well as outside Fukuoka include private residence, apparel stores, beauty parlors, restaurants and the like. Recently, STAD's first built work the S-HOUSE(2007) has won the foreign Bauwelt Prize 2009 in Berlin, and the office has been invited into the Wallpaper* Architects Directory 2009 to exhibit in the Rotterdam Biennale in september this year, selected as one of the only 30 outstanding emerging practices from around the world.
